OFFICIAL MWF ROAD TO THE GOLD 2011 BLOG by Dan Mirade
Sunday, January 9th, 2011 * 10:23AM

JANUARY 9TH - thanks go out to all of the MWF Superfans, the athletes, support staff, camera people, ring crew, venue employees, etc. for traveling in a not so pleasant day to enjoy one tremendous night.  Our new meet & greet system seemed to run  smoothly compared to prior events.  The action in the ring was top notch.  Even with the weather, every advertised star appeared and every advertised match took place.  Kong's farewell was a memorable moment for her and the company.  Would have loved to have seen just how big that crowd would have been if it wasn't for the snow/snow threats.  Huge announcements made for SOUL SURVIVOR VII March 19th, and we're now less than five weeks away from MWF/Shelton Benjamin Night at the Boston Garden.  The 10th year of the MWF is kicking off with a bang.  Want more??  Check out MWF TV, with another hot program ready to hit the air this week with highlights from last night. . .

And with that, the RTTG BLOG wraps up.  Three and a half months of twists and turns, exictement and stress, never ending work.  We hope the fans on hand enjoyed the event front to bottom, convince ten friends each to check out SOUL SURVIVOR in March and help us continue to grow and expand.  Many thanks. . .

JANUARY 8TH - Morning update to the RTTG BLOG. . .Daniel Bryan and Abyss are airborn as I type. . .Jay Lethal is boarding his plane. . .Paul Bearer in mid-air on the first leg of his trip. . .Homicide looking at an hour or so delay. . .weather people created a lot of worry but all looks well (knock on wood). . .

Have been told by city officials to expect a total of 2-3" for the entire storm (not even sure when it began as there's some light snow now).  Memorial Hall informed us that they will have staff on hand the entire event to treat the venue with sand and salt as needed.  If you've never been to Memorial Hall, the venue and it's parking lot are attached to the fire station, so it's a safe location. . .

See you tonight!  Any updates will come via Twitter. . .

Sorry to hear the news of the passing of longtime CWA veteran Big Val Puccio, who debuted on the very first event in 1993 and was around at least through 1998 or so. . .a good guy. . .

JANUARY 7TH - Wrestling fans, we're running out of time - join us for Tweet To The Gold tomorrow with updates all day long on the event, superstar arrivals & other news on our official Twitter page.  No matter how you get there, be there LIVE!

JANUARY 5TH - many thanks go out to the great fans of the Millennium Wrestling Federation for making ROAD TO THE GOLD's pre-sale a major success.  If you didn't get a VIP Package. . .what were you thinking??  Nonetheless, all remaining floor seats, lodge seats and individual autograph and posed photo tickets will be on sale at Memorial Hall this Saturday. . .it's going to be a great night and we want you to be a part of it.  As it's been stated many times NO VIP PACKAGES will be available Saturday, they were pre-sale only!  President Cena is anxious to unveil some of his plans for SOUL SURVIVOR VII March 19th. . .

Signed to compete at ROAD TO THE GOLD in matches that haven't been announced include Rick Fuller, Scott Reed, Jay Freddie, Julian Starr, Bobby Ocean, former MWF Tag Team Champion Beau Douglas and others as this one keeps getting bigger. . .

Finally, lots of talk about snow.  We had a mother of a storm last week that a 60 degree afternoon a few days later melted part of.  We're told there's about a 90% chance that the possible weekend storms doesn't even accumulate 2 inches (knock on wood). . .

JANUARY 1ST - Happy New Year to everyone from the Millennium Wrestling Federation as we kick off our own "Year 10."  Now just a week away from ROAD TO THE GOLD, next Saturday, January 8th at Memorial Hall in Melrose, MA, we're learning that this is likely the farewell to Awesome Kong before she goes. . ."somewhere."  Stranger things have happened (i.e. Daniel Bryan competing on this event and taking part in the meet & greet), but this is slated to be Kong's final appearance of any kind before going "somewhere".  Will JBL's Uprising make her farewell a happy night or try to destroy it??  Don't miss out on what should be a memorable moment in what's going to be a huge night at one of New England's biggest wrestling events of 2011. . .

Need to stress that VIP Packages are NOT, absolutely NOT, sold at the door the night of the event.  As has been noted on the event page since September, the cutoff date for VIP Packages is Tuesday, January 4th.  We always have fans that want them the night of the event, but again, with the time it takes to put them together, you cannot buy them at the door January 8th.  We will have individual event tickets as well as individual autograph and posed photo tickets available, but won't have any VIP Packages.  If you want them, order now!

And what exactly is President Cena working on for SOUL SURVIVOR VII March 19th??

* * * * *

DECEMBER 30TH - For those that love a good pro wrestling "conspiracy theory" tis over as WWE sent along Daniel Bryan's flight itinerary for his appearance January 8th at ROAD TO THE GOLD.  He will compete for WWE on Friday, January 7th, fly to Boston for RTTG on the 8th, then back on the road with WWE Sunday, January 9th.  We're very excited and happy to provide the great MWF fans with the opportunity to meet and see Bryan compete in a close up, intimate setting.  That's one of the great things about being part of MWF events:  getting to interact with the superstars up close and personal.

Before the live event begins next Saturday, it's not just Daniel Bryan that's part of the fanfest. . .it's an all-star line-up. . .Paul Bearer, who Kane just played Humpty Dumpty with on WWE Smackdown. . .TNA superstars like Abyss. . ."Black Machismo" Jay Lethal. . .Homicide. . .Awesome Kong. . .Doink The Clown Matt Borne. . .John Cena Sr. . ."Die Hard" Eddie Edwards.  If you get a VIP Package, you'll get one autograph and one posed photo for a price that is the BEST value in professional wrestling, bar none!

We'll have a couple of bonus matches during the fanfest, but once that bell rings at 6PM, every match on the card has the possibility to steal the show and could easily be the main event.  Every athlete on the card has pride and is going to go all out to leave a lasting impression with you.  We've been saying it for months, but this is one event you do not want to miss!!  Where else are you going to see WWE, TNA & ROH superstars wrestle, sign autographs and pose for photos at the same event??  What other promotion is going to be holding a press conference and a special meet & greet with Shelton Benjamin at the TD Boston Garden February 12th??  ONLY in the Millennium Wrestling Federation, the king of sports here in New England!  And it's only getting better in year ten!

* * * * *

DECEMBER 26TH - Santa Cena comes through on the tremendous MWF CHRISTMAS CLASH 2010 special.  Want to rattle "Stalker" Dylan Kage, who has taken join in the misery of others, including my family, for years??  I don't know, how about bringing back "Demon" Luis Ortiz??  Ortiz made his MWF debut in 2002 but became a victim of "the stalker" in 2007.  While he's returned to action in various parts of New England, President Cena wanted to make sure he picked the perfect time for him to come back - ROAD TO THE GOLD Saturday, January 8th at Memorial Hall in Melrose, MA.  Kage is already signed to face Todd Hanson inside a 15 foot high steel cage, so who will Ortiz face??

It's getting closer by the days fans. . .support the MWF and our on-going efforts to bring you the best action in the northeast along with Keeping The Kids Off The Streets.  Don't delay, get your tickets NOW - our VIP Packages are indeed the best value in professional wrestling!  We want to keep bringing you events of this nature - the only way to do that is for you to be part of the action. . .

* * * * *

DECEMBER 21ST - The headaches trying to put together an event like this sometimes. . .after we made an agreement with Comcast to run a package of television commercials on USA, MTV, Spike TV and SyFy, we produced the thirty second commercial. . .mail it off to Michigan - yes Michigan, when we used to drop it off in Wellesley. . .we're told there's something wrong with the way the tape is edited late last week. . .the plan is to upload the commercial onto Comcast's commercial web-site.  Fast forward to Sunday, we watch the edited commercial again. . .keep in mind, there are thirty frames per second of television, times thirty seconds in the commercial, so 900 frames we had to evaluate. . .nothing's wrong with it.  Nonetheless, reviewed the paperwork sent to us, we were provided with options to use to put it online so it would air on Raw last night. . .we used the AVI format, which was the first option.  Bring the commercial home to upload last night. . .option #2 is there. . .option #3 is there. . .no option #1, which would have been AVI.  Are you kidding me??  It's now about 2AM, so all I can do is email Comcast. . .

Awake to an email of excuses. . .can we FedEx them another tape of the commercial??  Considering they said the commercial had edit issues, what would the point??  Instead, spent the night reformatting everything from start to finish in one of their other uploading options.  Brought it home, this version would not work.  Called Kevin Dunn Pat, gave him all of the log in option, on the second try, he was able to get it online. . .

Make the holiday season brighter and get a VIP Package. . .or a few dozen, what the heck. . .

Now the question is, will it air tonight??  Will it air on Smackdown, which is on USA, or will they air it on SyFy on whatever's on that channel??  Asked for a refund for the Raw commercial that didn't air tonight obviously, and to have them run it not once but twice next week as a courtesy considering the hours and nights wasted on this. . .if we were only given accurate information last Friday, we would have avoided the entire headache. . .they're quick to take your money before the product ever airs, let's see if we get refunded.  Never had a problem with this using network television channels such as MyTV out of Derry. . .

On top of that, our web-site host is still trying to figure out what half the fans that come to the site can't get in the first time. . .our web traffic is down about 50% at the busiest time of the year. . .another company that loves to bill in advance before they deliver the months service, but will they credit??

The joys of being a part of a regional wrestling promotion. . .

* * * * *

DECEMBER 20TH - Geez, has anything been happening with ROAD TO THE GOLD since the last update??  I apologize for the lack of updates on the event BLOG. . .so much happening in so many different ways.  For those that have experienced issues getting onto the BOSTONWRESTLING.COM supersite, our site hosts are looking into the matter as we speak.  Traffic has been down more than 50% of our daily average despite a lot of on-line advertising out there right now. . .they're "working on it". . .big help as we're a couple of weeks away from one of the biggest events in company history and was having a great on-line sales season. . . . if you encounter the problem just hit the refresh button and it will generally take you to the site or whatever page you desire. . .

You can feel the intensity of the double main event at RTTG. . .the Daniel Bryan vs Tommaso Ciampa Submission Match is worth the price of admission alone and likely the only time you're going to see these two lock horns anytime soon.  Ciampa asked for it and got it, only he got a little more than he was expecting with President Cena's stipulation.  The Slyck Wagner Brown vs Homicide Steel Cage MWF Heavyweight Championship Match is going to be another hotly contested match up whether Slyck is the champion or not.  Since our last BLOG update, Slyck shared some of his thoughts on the match. . .

Jay Lethal vented about John Bradshaw Layfield's Uprising this week and received an early Christmas present from MWF officials this weekend we he learned he'll be facing Uprising member and one half of the MWF Tag Team Champions Antonio Thomas January 8th in Melrose, the first time these two have locked horns in the MWF.  Thomas is no slouch, to say the least, as his talent and WWE experience put him in the position to be one of JBL and NutritionMarket.com's investments.  I still think we haven't even started to see the best of Antonio in the MWF as of yet.  While feuding over the TNA X-Division Championship down in Orlando with Robbie E, he's got a lot of unfinished business with JBL's crew up in Boston.  This should be yet another explosive match-up for the fans on hand. . .

On Christmas night, we will announce a returning superstar at ROAD TO THE GOLD.  Who will it be??  President Cena says it will generate a "reaction". . .this one we might agree on. . .

If the submission match and four steel cage wars weren't enough, what about the MWF TV Title Match President Cena put together last Sunday between champion "Straight Edge" Brian Fury and the former champion "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards??  Edwards was the first MWF TV Champion in company history and held it two and a half years, yet has only had one singles rematch since.  Fury is another athlete that's held the gold with honor and pride since winning it at SOUL SURVIVOR V, but has yet to face Edwards one-on-one, even though he held onto the belt in the classic 5-way match on the October MWF ULTRA which included these two along with Shelton Benjamin, Tommaso Ciampa and "Hurricane" John Walters.  Edwards has held ROH gold in addition to his tours of Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, he seems primed and ready to recapture the championship he incarnated back in February of 2005.

The massive "Executioner" Brian Milonas had some thoughts on his steel cage war with TNA superstar "The Monster" Abyss on January 8th that has to be one of the biggest matches in Milonas' career, a true chance to step up on the big stage in a battle of the big men. . .

After an impressive victory in his debut on the December MWF ULTRA, Jay Freddie has signed to compete at Memorial Hall in Melrose at RTTG. . .I think he could give a number of our athletes a run for their money. . .solid pick-up by President Cena. . .

We're pleased with the advance at this stage of the game, but have you ordered your VIP Packages or event tickets as of yet??  If not, look at the value you get for your dollar.  We want you to be part of this big event.  TV commercials are going to start running regularly on WWE Raw, Smackdown and TNA Impact this week and expect an even bigger pick-up.  If you want one of the FREE Iron Sheik autographed Christmas card, act quick!

* * * * *

DECEMBER 8TH - MWF fans, sorry for the delay in updates on the BLOG with so much going on. . . it is our goal that these event BLOG's will be part of our "history" as years go on and give you guys a look at how we build these events slowly but surely over weeks and months. . .if you've been checking out the site, you've seen the news break for ROAD TO THE GOLD January 8th at Memorial Hall in Melrose, MA along with news about MWF / Shelton Benjamin Night at the Boston Garden February 12th, all kinds of huge sales in the MWF Store for the holidays, new episodes of MWF TV and our new Online Overtime format, along with behind the scenes work for SOUL SURVIVOR VII where President Cena is going on a Theo Epstein-like spending spree for some big time talent. . .

Tickets continue to move for RTTG.  Fans that have purchased VIP Packages are going to get a bonus "treat" of an email over the next few days.  Iron Sheik autographed Christmas cards will be en route this week.  If you haven't got your tickets yet, it helps the cause to purchase them in advance.  It's going to be one of the best nights of pro wrestling New England will see in 2011.  The VIP Packages offer fans so much for such a great value, it's a shame to pass the offer up. . .

"Million Dollar Investment" Tommaso Ciampa may have opened Pandora's box by challenging WWE US Champion Daniel Bryan.  President Cena was more than happy to oblige, only making it a submission match.  Bryan vs Ciampa. . .the LaBelle Lock vs Project Ciampa. . .this is going to be an outstanding professional wrestling match with two of the finest wrestlers in the game today.  This may be the biggest match of Ciampa's career, bottom line.  John Layfield is going to be watching this one closely, as a victory could skyrocket Ciampa's career to a different stratosphere.  Bryan's dedication to the sport may be unmatched.  I'm really, really looking forward to calling this match in the broadcast booth as well as enjoying it as a fan.  No matter what you think of him, Ciampa's going to be primed and ready to take out Bryan January 8th and make 2011 his own.  This one match alone is worth the price of admission to the event. . .honestly, if you went to a Daniel Bryan autograph session, an autograph and posed photo would likely be at least $20 each.  Look at what you get when you come to an MWF event.

Then you have four dangerous steel cage matches signed. . .MWF Heavyweight Champion "Slyck" Wagner Brown vs Homicide in a revenge match that will take place regardless if Slyck is champ or not come January 8th. . . TNA superstar "The Monster" Abyss against "Executioner" Brian Milonas in a true battle of the big men. . . .Todd Hanson and arch enemy MWF Southern Heavyweight Champion "Stalker" Dylan Kage (with Paul Bearer) lock horns. . . and then. . .Awesome Kong vs one half of the MWF Tag Team Champions J-Busta!  Are you kidding me??  Cena and I disagree and have more battles than you'd ever imagine. . . .this one is just. . .out of the box??  Can Busta survive a cage match with the former TNA Knockouts Champion??  This isn't just some intergender match, Kong is well over six feet tall and a dangerous, dangerous woman.  I have to say that this is one of the more unique matches in MWF history, and there's only one way to see it. . .be in Melrose, MA LIVE Saturday, January 8th. . .

Expect at least one more RTTG match to be announced this Sunday night at MWF Studios. . .

DECEMBER 1ST - Santa Von Johnson was a busy man, sending off packages via USPS today.  If you haven't placed your orders yet, another bundle is going out Thursday afternoon - place your order now and get a great deal!

Spent yesterday lining up all of the travel for the superstars headed in January 8th.  If you're ever in a situation where you have to buy multiple plane tickets on multiple airlines, it's better to use a site like Travelocity or a debit/credit card will go into "lockdown" mode, making you waste time calling the bank, explaining that you're you, what you're doing, etc.

Already starting to work on the fanfest photos for January 8th.  Just like September 18th, we are NOT going to overprint 8x10's for the event - once they are online, we suggest reserving them in advance to avoid being shut out of any particular styles/wrestlers.  We're printing limited photos this time around because there are events we go home with dozens of extras that are a waste of money & space.  The earlier fans order their tickets the easier it is for us to figure out how many we should print.  With the VIP Packages in place for fans purchasing tickets in advance, it doesn't make sense to hold off.  President Cena wants to let fans know this in advance so we don't have people upset the night of the event if say we're all sold out of, say, Awesome Kong or Daniel Bryan photos.  The photos are made up and paid for in advance by a professional printer, we're not running down to Kinko's the night of the event.  The earlier we print them, the easier it is for us, but we usually until the last minute to try to come up with the best attendance guess possible.  Word to the wise - picture-ize. . .

NOVEMBER 30TH - Seems like forever since updating the BLOG with things so insane in the ring, behind the scenes and in real life.  DIE HARDER rocked Everett with a couple of tremendous matches to wrap up our 2010 live event schedule.  We announced that the MWF and Shelton Benjamin are going to take over the TD Boston Garden Saturday, February 12th with an interactive meet & greet along with a SOUL SURVIVOR VII press conference.  The MWF Store is loaded with deals here, there and everywhere that you don't want to miss out on with some limited supplies on some. . .

Down to business.  Have you got your ROAD TO THE GOLD VIP Packages yet??  If not, why??  They are without a doubt the best value in professional wrestling with what you get for your dollar.  Tickets in all categories are available now. . .

Three of the four steel cage wars have been announced.  Homicide looks to rip the face off of "Slyck" Wagner Brown.  IF Slyck can old onto the MWF Heavyweight Championship until Saturday, January 8th in Melrose, the title will be on the line at RTTG;  otherwise, Homicide's "just" out for revenge.  Todd Hanson and "Stalker" Dylan Kage (with Paul Bearer) face off in a match without any outside interference as they'll be enclosed by four 15 foot walls of steel.  Bearer is the manager of WWE World Champion Kane and Kage became the first MWF Southern Heavyweight Champion, winning tournament finals November 13th in front of our largest crowd ever in Pembroke, NC.  President Cena stated the MWF Southern Championship will NOT be defended up north, so this one is all about pride and perhaps a shot against "Slyck" Wagner Brown or whomever the champ may be.  Then we have a true battle of the big men as TNA superstar "The Monster Abyss" squares off for the first time with "Executioner" Brian Milonas in a match I hope the ring is reinforced for as an estimated 800 pounds go to war.  We still have one more cage match to go along with other big matches in our final stop to SOUL SURVIVOR VII

On paper, this could be the biggest event in MWF history. . .current TV superstars from WWE, TNA and ROH under one roof at the same time. . .autograph/photo fanfest where you can meet and interact with them. . .a raffle to win one of only 500 autographed Undertaker WrestleMania XXVI plaques with a piece of the ring rope. . .free autographed Iron Sheik Christmas cards if you order early enough. . .$5 coupons for the MWF Merchandise table if you order in advance. . .an all star line-up of superstars known the world over as well as New England. . .January 8th at Memorial Hall in Melrose will truly be a night where the superstars and legends of yesterday, today and tomorrow come together.  We need your support, we want your support and we're pulling out all the stops to kick off 2011!  If you're not there live, you will regret it!

* * * * *

NOVEMBER 19TH - should be a very eventful Sunday night.  Just seven short days before MWF DIE HARDER in Everett, MA November 28th, President Cena will announce the second of four huge steel cage showdowns at ROAD TO THE GOLD Saturday, January 8th at Memorial Hall in Melrose, MA.  It's getting good as we get closer to the holiday season kicking into high gear.  What happened to 2010??  Have you ordered your RTTG VIP Packages yet??  There is no place any true wrestling fan should want to be other than Melrose January 8th.  With present day superstars from both WWE, TNA and ROH in the house, the MWF is where the superstars and legends of yesterday, today and tomorrow come together - that isn't hype, it's reality. . .

* * * * *

NOVEMBER 18TH - MWF Superfans, we are off to the races!  President Cena made it official as MWF Heavyweight Champion "Slyck" Wagner Brown defends the gold against nemesis Homicide in Melrose.  There's history in the MWF between the two, as Slyck humiliated the pride-filled Homicide after his MWF debut, crushing ex-Uprising member Luke Robinson.  At our 9th anniversary event, Slyck involved himself in Homicide's match with another of his enemies Jay Lethal, in the end costing Homicide a hot match-up you can view in our new high quality format here

Cena also noted that this match takes place regardless if Slyck is champion or amongst a list of challengers come January 8th.  One way or the other, Homicide is going to unleash some rage in the cage at ROAD TO THE GOLD - get your VIP Packages today!!

* * * * *

NOVEMBER 15TH - President Cena will announce one of the four huge steel cage matches at ROAD TO THE GOLD January 8th this Wednesday night!  This road is heating and speeding up!

* * * * *

NOVEMBER 8TH - it's official!  After the controversy last night at END GAME, ROH TV Champion "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards will compete at ROAD TO THE GOLD January 8th in Melrose.  Will Edwards also be the MWF Heavyweight Champion come 2011??

* * * * *

NOVEMBER 2ND - the roster is huge and perhaps even historic.  The meet & greet will be unforgettable.  The action will be hot and heavy.  And as we speak, VIP Packages are available to all fans.  As a special "thank you" from President Cena, even though these packages include autograph & photo opportunities with superstars from both WWE and TNA, they're $10 less than our previous two events!  Want the perfect holiday gift for yourself or the wrestling fan on your list??  ROAD TO THE GOLD VIP Packages are the way to go;  one of the packages even comes with an autographed Iron Sheik Christmas card lol!  The question is after END GAME this Sunday in Everett, who will be the champion come January 8th??

* * * * *

OCTOBER 27TH - huge couple of days here in the MWF as we've now got the entire rundown for MWF ROAD TO THE GOLD Saturday, January 8th in Melrose, MA.  President Cena has announced that TNA X-Division Champion "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal, Doink The Clown Matt Borne, and finally, Homicide, will all appear live in our post holiday mega event!

Has there ever been an event where champions from both WWE & TNA have competed??  That's not a promotional angle (although it doesn't hurt), it's a legit question. . .never heard of it happening in the past, and who knows if both WWE US Champion Daniel Bryan and Lethal will be holding their respective championships come January 8th. . .

MWF Superfans - look for an exclusive ticket offer email that will give you the event link before all fans have a chance to get VIP Packages this Halloween Sunday night.

Just a quick update today as we're preparing for The Iron Sheik to hit Beantown to join John Cena Sr. at TGI Friday's restaurant in Braintree, MA for a special fundraiser for Make-A-Wish.  Will be very active on Twitter once again. . .

* * * * *

OCTOBER 24TH - it's officially Sunday and you know what that means - MWF scoop night from the studio.  From what I'm hearing, we'll be announcing a big time match up for MWF END GAME which is now only two weeks away live from the Bell Time Club in Everett, MA.  "Slyck" Wagner Brown defending the MWF Heavyweight Championship against "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards is just the beginning according to the president.  If that wasn't enough, we're going to have three days of superstars for ROAD TO THE GOLD, that's right, superstar announcements for the big one January 8th Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, leading to our Make-A-Wish fundraiser at TGI Friday's in Braintree, MA Wednesday at 4PM with The Iron Sheik and John Cena Sr.  Big week on tap leading to a huge month of November.

It will be interesting to see who Cena has signed for our January 8th mega-event that already features WWE US Champion Daniel Bryan, the manager of WWE World Champion Kane Paul Bearer, TNA superstar "The Monster" Abyss, the best womens wrestler in the world (in my opinion) Awesome Kong. . .and there's three more main event level stars to be added??  Live wrestling, autograph / photo fanfest, raffles, auctions, what more could Cena do for this one??  VIP's are truly going to be very important people in Melrose right after the holiday's, to say the least.  I understand another cool VIP "bonus" is being worked on.

Yesterday, October 23rd, marked the 17th anniversary of Tony Rumble's Century Wrestling Alliance kicking off in Wakefield, MA.  I wrote a detailed column about that as without Tony, without the CWA experience, there's a fairly good chance that there would never be a Millennium Wrestling Federation.  The fact that seven of us that were in Wakefield on Day 1 are part of the MWF is really cool (myself, Pat "Kevin Dunn" Doyle, The Jackal, Dr. Von Johnson, Rich Palladino, Bull Montana and The Iron Sheik).

Not related to RTTG but a BLOG that tries to let the fans see what it's like to put events like this together, with what little free time I've had I hit the movies at least three times this week (possibly four).  Paranormal Activity 2 scared the hell out of me - like my horror movies, cat like reaction to ghosts (a few will get that joke).  Buried had a kind of surprise ending. . .Red was good for what it was. . .a "romantic comedy" where a couple that died's two friends come together to raise the deceased's baby was watchable.  There's the excitement in my life outside of the MWF.  A back in severe pain everyday, feet in severe pain several days a week, painkillers, muscle relaxers, sleeping aids (all prescribed FYI), and visits to the movies to distract my mind for a couple hours. . .

Also caught up on reading. . .I love free wrestling books as I feel like I can usually learn something from everything and anything, and I like to pick apart certain things that I know are wrong or "twists of the truth"' (cough, lies).  WWE sent two books along to me that I finished up this week.  Rey Mysterio's autobiography just came out on paperback and was a decent enough read.  His work is so good and smooth he doesn't even stand out as an astonishing worker anymore (that's a compliment, by the way).  The book itself was good enough. . .I don't know enough about Mexican wrestling to have really enjoyed the first part of the book as I wasn't familiar with a lot of the guys he wrote about.  He mentioned Chris Benoit but never mentioned the murder, his thoughts or the impact it had on him, which was disappointing.  Where I thought he really dropped the ball was on his going to rehab over painkillers.  He really had a chance to explain to kids and fans of all ages what he went through, how it happened, etc., and he just kind of glossed over it in a couple of paragraphs.  I thought there was a chance to make a true impact from someone that millions of kids look up to (the oldest of the two "little Mirade's" being one of them).  I can also understand him not wanting to hurt his image with them, so it is what it is.  Professor Mirade gave that one a solid C.  Was really surprised that I enjoyed WWE's Rumble Road so much. . .never expected to.  A little under 200 pages, it's an easy read with PG themed stories from the road and I really liked it.  To average fans, it's a real eye opener to see what these guys go through outside the ring.  It's only running $10 or so on Amazon and worth the read if you have a trip coming up or just interested in a behind the scenes type look at WWE.  Rumble Road gets a B+ from me. . .

That's all tonight. . .really looking forward to see what news today brings. . .all three October MWF TV's are online in our new high quality format, free from any computer in the world, and our October special for the autographed Doink The Clown Matt Borne Studio Shoot Interview DVD continues to sell well.  With limited supplies, pick yours up today.  The more we sell, the better shape the company is in, the more live events we run, the more superstars we bring in for you to see and meet, the more DVD tapings we run. . .notice a trend??  We need you guys!

* * * * *

OCTOBER 19TH - so how'd you like that one??  October 14th, went to bed never expecting that on Friday we'd have a call with WWE letting us know that US Champion Daniel Bryan would be appearing live at ROAD TO THE GOLD January 8th in Melrose, MA.  After our roller coaster of a ride this summer, it looks like it takes it's final loop into Memorial Hall with one hell of a late Christmas present. . .

Some ticket info:  all inclusive VIP Packages go on-sale to MWF Superfans as soon as all of the featured superstars are announced, then to all fans on Halloween.  Any remaining floor and lodge tickets will go on-sale Thanksgiving night.  More news to come. . .

Look for another announcement from President Cena over the next day or two.  Who has he signed now?!?

OCTOBER 16TH - today was one for the books (if we ever write one).  If you've ever doubted that this company absolutely loves and lives for it's fans, wait until our announcement this Sunday night right here on the BOSTONWRESTLING.COM supersite.  So much work is going on behind the scenes with something that came as a HUGE surprise to us today that President Cena may turn it into a week of announcements for the big event January 8th and put VIP Packages on-sale soon.  There's so much going on in the MWF right now it's amazing.  Two events in Everett this November, our NC debut just four weeks away, all leading to Memorial Hall in Melrose. . .

One thing I can say is that the autograph / photo sessions will continue to evolve.  The system we use for fans entering the venue will be very different so there's not a giant crowd of people in the entrance area, and the autograph / photo sessions will be taking place upstairs in the room where food/drinks were served at our last event.  After everything that went down today we have a feeling we're going to need as many seats as possible.

If you are a MWF Superfan (i.e. someone that has purchased MWF tickets in advance online so we have a way to identify you), look for a special email from President Cena's office over the weekend to ensure you have first crack at VIP Packages in the near future - talk about the perfect holiday gift!

OCTOBER 11TH - Cena shocker - WWE superstar and "Stalker" Dylan Kage's evil mentor PAUL BEARER returns to the MWF live at our North Carolina debut TALK TRASH GET BASHED November 13th as well as ROAD TO THE GOLD.  I thought we had seen the end of this scumbag once he returned to WWE to stab Undertaker in the back with Kane.  Really unexpected. . .Bearer could be more dangerous than ever. . .

OCTOBER 9TH - tomorrow should be a big night.  Cena's been working the phones all week in regards to a plethora of events coming up but has been keeping a lot of the new quiet.  We're just five weeks away from our NC debut and we're expecting some kind of information in regards to ROAD TO THE GOLD.  Stay tuned. . .

OCTOBER 7TH - it should be an interesting couple of days with Sheiky Baby in town.  Despite the focus of so many live events over the next five months, he requires a lot of attention.  If you are in the Seekonk area, come on out and visit the Sheik & John Cena Sr. in what should be a fun event at TGI Friday's. . .

In regards to ROAD TO THE GOLD, we're gearing up for the return of "The Monster" Abyss, whose dangerous, violent side has exploded over the past few months in TNA. . .interesting to see who "they" are this Sunday night at Bound For Glory.  If you've been following us on Twitter, you learned that we came to terms with two more featured superstars at the big event January 8th in Melrose, and I'm fairly certain that President Cena will be announcing a second superstar appearing in ring and taking part in the autograph / photo fanfest this Sunday.  From what I've seen / heard of the line-up, it's going to be one hot night of action.

We're looking at seven featured superstars for this one.  For our all-inclusive VIP Packages, we're looking at different price structures than in the past that may make your wallet smile.  The point of contention is what bonuses do fans get with the packages.  Giving you the best value for your dollar is very, very important to the Millennium Wrestling Federation.  We've already talked about the Undertaker autographed WrestleMania XXVI plaque raffle and certain packages will contain a free raffle ticket (don't worry, everyone will have a chance to buy them).  We have some other new, out of the box type ideas that we're looking to finalize.  MWF Superfans that have purchased tickets in advance from us in the past online will have the first crack at 'em (for the simple reason we have your email address from your previous purchases).  Hoping to have it figured out over the next few days, then our goal will be to impress and wow you to Melrose January 8th. . .

And if you haven't checked out the October MWF ULTRA, do yourself a favor and watch it, free of charge, 24/7 from any computer in the world.  If you've never attended an MWF event before, believe me, after watching this one, you'll be frothing at the lips to be there live!!

Peace out, we'll talk soon. . .

OCTOBER 1ST - a time of excitement, change and opportunity in the Millennium Wrestling Federation right now.  Two Make-A-Wish fundraisers in October with The Iron Sheik and John Cena Sr. as the MWF partners with TGI Friday's restaurants.  Two live events in Everett, MA in November (the 7th and 28th) with President Cena's special ticket offer if you attend both.  The MWF debuts in the great state of North Carolina November 13th.  We have this tremendous event, ROAD TO THE GOLD Saturday, January 8th at Memorial Hall in Melrose, which will be the best value in pro wrestling this holiday season with not one, not two, not three but four big time steel cage grudge matches.  There's a huge, interactive promotional event in February, all leading to SOUL SURVIVOR VII Saturday, March 19th back in our home of Melrose.  Lots of surprises, twists, turns and returns should be expected (and unexpected).  I'm hearing about three athletes that could really make an impact on a regular basis making their way back to the MWF. . .question is more "when" than "if" in my opinion. . .President Cena is determined to see one of these men on a mission appear live January 8th. . .

Trying to finalize the roster of superstars that will appear live January 8th as well as what goodies we have for the VIP Packages so we can put them on-sale to Superfans hopefully next week.  A lot of possibilities on the table, and we want to make sure we seize every one of them that makes sense to give you guys the best experience humanly possible.  Sometimes frustration can set in trying to come to agreements with the "stars";  it reaches a point where you're either in or out as there are many superstars known worldwide that would love to return to the MWF and many that would like to debut (and I expect many fresh faces for you to see compete as well as meet at our fanfests over the next year). . .

SEPTEMBER 29TH - the feet are dying, the back is shot, but it was one hell of a productive birthday for us here in the Millennium Wrestling Federation.  If you're not joining us on Twitter, try it out.  In a spur of the moment type deal, we decided to announce the first superstar officially signed for ROAD TO THE GOLD January 8th in Melrose, that being TNA superstar "The Monster" Abyss!  We haven't seen Abyss too much in 2011, but the big man is ready to return at our RTTG:  Rage In The Kage event.  Will "They" be with him??

In what will turn into even bigger news, we are putting the final touches on something HUGE leading into SOUL SURVIVOR VII.  I can't recall anything like this in the history of independent wrestling leading into our biggest event of 2011 (with a lot of competition from what President Cena is planning).  Standby, my friends. . .

SEPTEMBER 28TH - the waiting game. . .probably the worst period in putting together a big event.  Looking for "official" official confirmations from three more talents as well as an offer made to a fourth. . .two superstars ready to rock Melrose January 8th.  More ideas tossed around for fans VIP Packages. . .tick tock, tick tock. . .not much of a break after 9th anniversary weekend, believe me!

And for all of you historians out there, on this date in 2001 (September 28th), the Millennium Wrestling Federation ran it's first live event at Wonderland Greyhound Park in Revere, MA.  Great card with a little bit of everything. . .let's test the brain. . .first match in MWF history was "Slyck" Wagner Brown (with April Hunter) defeating "Straight Edge" Brian Fury. . .Nemesis def. "Big Shot" Ralph Lano (with Mike Lano). . .El Mascarado def. The Widowmaker. . ."Superfly" Jimmy Snuka def. "Real Deal" Joel Davis. . .Mike Steele def. Jamie Pain. . .Tiger Mulligan began his long winning streak that led him to becoming the first MWF Heavyweight Championship with a win over Judas Young. . .the late Heff took a drivers club to the heart of Commissioner Von Johnson while he was making out in the ring with Annie (quite a site). . .in a double main event that started off with Road Dogg vs Chris Chetti of ECW fame, Little Guido attacked RD, leading to Grandmaster Sexay hitting the ring, with Dogg & Sexay coming away with a tag team win over Guido & Chetti. . . for our tenth anniversary I'd love to do a roundtable shoot interview about some of the aforementioned. . .

SEPTEMBER 25TH - Paul Bearer returns to WWE. . .does that mean we've seen the end of that piece of garbage here in the Millennium Wrestling Federation??  What does that mean for "Stalker" Dylan Kage January 8th??

We're looking forward to putting tickets on-sale as well as announcing superstars and matches very soon.  Right now we're in the process of finalizing the stars that will appear in the ring and that will take part in the fanfest.  We're also working on a really cool (albeit expensive) option for our new VIP Ultra Packages.  Ticket packages will work a little different than in the past for this event, which will hopefully lead to an easier time making your selections.  Another thing up in the air is price - we're not going to charge the same amount as the last event "just because," it's all based upon our expenses for the superstars, air travel, hotel, rent, insurance, tv commercials, police, printing costs, etc., etc.  With what we're offering in the packages this go around, they're going to be a great value and have something cool and unique. . .working on one more project as a bonus to you that we should know about shortly, then we can let our Superfans have first crack at them (i.e. fans that have purchased tickets online in advance and/or provided their email address at a live event). . .

The event page should also be easier for fans to navigate as well. . .this holiday season, get ready to give the wrestling fan on your list the best value in professional wrestling!

And don't forget to "follow us" on Twitter (even though we don't go far most of the time). . .our Twitter friends got a little hint about what could turn into something absolutely huge  a possible SOUL SURVIVOR VII press conference this winter. . .

SEPTEMBER 21ST -  the BIG BANG BIRTHDAY BASH 9th anniversary weekend is over, a hot live event & fanfest on September 18th at Memorial Hall in Melrose where we made more history, and an ultra cool Studio Shoot Interview DVD taping with The Boogeyman on September 19th that should be on your list for Santa Claus this fall. . .and with that, we now turn our attention to the next "biggie" on our list, the final stop to SOUL SURVIVOR VII, ROAD TO THE GOLD:  Rage In The Kage. . .

ROAD TO THE GOLD is another long running MWF tradition, debuting back in 2003 in Lynn, MA, featuring the debut of the evil Paul Bearer.  On January 8th it comes with the tag line "Rage In The Kage" (pun intended, I'm sure), as President Cena looks to settle four grudges in one night inside a 15 foot high steel cage.  Information on superstars, event format, tickets, etc., will be forthcoming in the coming weeks. . .

Never taking a day off, we've already come up with some ways to improve the fan experience January 8th.  This past weekend, the reason we had an earlier than usual start time and the event seemed to go in reverse was that there was supposed to be another area event a lot of our talent wanted to compete on at a military base that wound up not even happening on Saturday.  Trying to show some good will in the world of professional wrestling, we bumped up our event to start the wrestling early to let the guys make the other event.  It shows that trying to be the "nice guy" in wrestling is almost pointless as it was a no win position to be in.  Boogeyman's flight delay didn't help. . .Jay Lethal was even stuck at his connection point. . .

For this years ROAD TO THE GOLD, we're looking to mix things up a little bit. . .working idea (i.e. not official) is to have the autograph/photo session at 5PM, followed by the live wrestling event (no Q&A, we'll likely save that for SSVII in March).  We believe that makes it much more kid-friendly time wise. . .

Now that we have a new scale design for Memorial Hall, we're going to change the seating/ticket packages a bit.  We'll have all inclusive VIP Gold Packages that include a numbered floor seat (the earlier you order, the closer to the ring you'll be) and all inclusive VIP Packages (which include a general admission lodge seat).  Once we know the "cut off" date, we'll open up standard floor & lodge seats that don't come with all the autograph, photo and other VIP perks.  We have some creative ideas in place to ensure we're giving the fans the best value in pro wrestling.  This past weekend for $60, you got a front row ticket to a big time independent event, nine autographs, nine posed photos, an autographed Daniel Bryan poster, a raffle ticket for an autographed John Cena WrestleMania plaque and a free MWF DVD.  Individually, that's well over $200.  We look to give the fans similar options for the holiday season, and a great idea if you're going to give tickets for a Christmas present. . .

We have two top superstars already signed for the event and three more that are pretty much locked up.  Who, what and why??  Stay tuned!
